Angelina Jolie has caused a stir on the red carpet in a quite unique way.
The actress appeared to be all covered in patches of white powder while she was in New York for the premiere of Brad Pitt’s new drama The Normal Heart.
Believe it or not but there was a large patch on her left jaw along with other minor patches all over her face.
Moreover the actress also had the poorly blended powder on her chest with big streaks over her collarbones.
The couple seemed blissfully unaware of Jolie’s make-up malfunction while they walked the red carpet holding hands
However, it is perfectly common for celebrities to pack on extra make-up for a red carpet appearance because they know they will be photographed.
Make-up that appears fine in ordinary lighting can unfortunately look completely different under super bright camera flash – the powder is invisible in photos of Jolie taken without the flash.
The powder malfunction is not Jolie’s first. Jolie was caught with white powder on her knee at a photocall in London for her latest movie Maleficent.
She has now joined the band of actresses and actors who have made the same powdery mistake. Nicole Kidman (at the New York premiere for her movie Nine, 2009), Uma Thurman is and Drew Barrymore are all the victims of powder disaster.
Drew Barrymore looked like she was wearing a white mask at the London premiere of Charlie’s Angels in 2003 the actress and she seems to have had the worst disaster-she even had some powder in her hair.
Men have also had bad powder experiences. John Hamm of Mad Men appeared on a red carpet with powder on his nose in 2012.
At the London photocall for Maleficent, Jolie showcased a pair of custom Louboutins inspired by her wicked character.
The pointy white wedges with transparent panels along the sides also had slits in the toe and the real talking point was the heel itself.
It was fashioned into the shape of her Maleficent horns, the points of the horns were tipped with ”blood” droplets.
The shoes were clearly a hit with the actress because Jolie wore the same heels in black at the Paris photocall for her movie.
Christian Louboutin reportedly enjoyed designing the interesting shoes.
”It’s exciting to work with a film that has such a strong aesthetic and a character as great as Maleficent,” the designer said.
”I’ve been under the charm and spell of Angelina and her character.”
The luxury shoe brand is reportedly creating versions of the shoe in red and gold soon.
