How do you celebrate 30 great years of the sleek M5 sedan? Apparently, it’s creating a souped-up M5 and making it the most powerful BMW car ever produced.
BMW announced its plans to introduce only 300 examples of the new 30th Anniversary Edition BMW M5 across the globe, and only 30 of those vehicles will be slated for sale in the US.
The impressive “30 Jahre M5” boasts 600 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque, easily taking the crown for the brand’s most powerful car to date, which is reflected in the steep $138,275 price tag.
Potential buyers will have to follow BMW’s clever new social media campaign, which will reveal the reservation hotline’s phone number in pieces leading up to May 21st when the hotline will open to prospective purchasers at 1 p.m. EDT.
