Sant’Agata Bolognese: To celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, Italian supercar manufacturer unveiled Egoista at home, here in Sant’Agata Bolognese. And we thought Veneno , presented in early March at the Geneva Motor Show, was part of the celebration. Lamborghini indeed prepared quite a distinctive highlight to mark the occasion.
In attendance of over a thousand guests at the anniversary celebration, the affair was taken aback when a cinematic sound of V10 engine, accompanied by the CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, came into light to unveil the project called ‘Egoista’. “I am very attached to this Italian brand, being an Italian myself. I wanted to pay homage to and think up a vehicle to underline the fact that Lamborghinis have always been made with passion, and with the heart more than the head,” said Walter De Silva, design boss for Volkswagen Group, adding, “I wanted to pay tribute and think a vehicle to highlight the fact that Lamborghini have always been designed with passion, and with heart than the head,” while he recollects the crease of the new single seater.
The designer goes on to explain that “this is a car made for one person to give them pleasure and allow them to express their full personality. It is built purely for hyper-sophisticated people wanting more extreme and special things in the world.” To summarize, “it is hedonism to the extreme, this is a car without compromise, in a word: Egoista.”
The 5.2 liter V10 produces 600 horsepower. The selfish, sorry, the driver enters the vehicle by opening the roof (much like a jet) and climbs into the cockpit of what they call it ‘Survival Cell’ as it is built separately from the rest of the car. The team signed Alessandro Dambrosio for external lines, inside is molded by a team led by Stefan Sielaff. Grey and Orange being the color highlights this car undergoes. Maybe it was the wish of Lamborghini, to create a road toy on the lines of an Apache helicopter.
